Free Label Maker with No Signup Required
printshi lets you open the editor, design, and print without creating an account or entering an email address. Label content and imported addresses are processed on your device.
The current editor is not a limited trial: its design, import, print, and export features are available immediately. Because those editing operations run in the browser, label data does not need to be uploaded to a printshi account.
When an Account Helps—and When It Does Not
An account can be useful when you want cloud storage, collaboration, purchase history, or projects synchronized across devices. It is unnecessary for a one-off local print job. The relevant questions are whether an account is required to start, where the design is processed, what requires payment, and how a saved project can be exported or recovered.
printshi chooses the local-first side of that tradeoff. It is fast and private for work on one device, but clearing site data can remove locally saved projects and there is no automatic cross-device cloud backup.
Which Label Makers Actually Require Signup?
Capabilities change, so this table records the workflows reviewed on August 16, 2026 rather than making permanent claims about another product.
| Tool | Can start without account | Local-only editing | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|---|
| printshi | Yes | Yes | Six verified Avery grids, custom sizes, CSV addresses |
| Avery Design & Print | Yes for basic design | No | Largest official Avery template catalog; account used for saved projects |
| Canva | No | No | Broad decorative template and stock-asset library |
| OpenLabelMaker | Yes | Yes | Broader printer and barcode catalog; paid unlimited batch imports |
Choose based on the actual job: printshi for its local verified workflows, Avery for the widest official Avery stock coverage, Canva for decorative assets, or OpenLabelMaker for a broader printer and barcode catalog.
printshi's Privacy-First Approach
printshi was built with a simple principle: your label data is yours. Here's how that works in practice:
All data stored locally. Every label design, every imported CSV, every saved template lives in your browser's localStorage. This is a storage area built into every modern browser that keeps data on your device and nowhere else. No server receives your data because there is no server — printshi is a static web application.
No database, no backend. There's no user database to breach because there are no users to track. There's no backend API processing your requests. The HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files are served once, and then everything runs locally in your browser.
No analytics tracking. No Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Hotjar, no tracking pixels. printshi doesn't know how many people use it, what they design, or when they visit. That's intentional.
Works offline. After your first visit, printshi registers as a progressive web app (PWA) and caches all its assets. Close your browser, disconnect from the internet, and open printshi again — it works. Design labels on an airplane, in a warehouse with no Wi-Fi, or anywhere else you need them.
Works in private/incognito mode. Because printshi doesn't need a server connection, it works fine in incognito mode. The only caveat: localStorage is cleared when you close the incognito window, so your saved designs won't persist between sessions. But the editor itself is fully functional.
This approach means printshi can't offer cloud sync between devices or collaborative editing. That's a deliberate trade-off. For a label maker — a tool most people use individually on one computer — privacy and simplicity matter more than cloud features.
